Vehicular Assault...kinda

...so I'm on my day off yesterday, birds are singing, very nice outside...y'know a really good day. My wife went and bought me a new skateboard deck for our anniversary, DogTown...old school, I love it! So I decide to go get my old board out of my truck and get my tools to switch all my hardware over. Go out, open my garage, walk out to my driveway, fish my keys out of my pocket, unlock the car door...and then finally grab onto the door handle. ...and with one swift pull I proceed to pull open the passenger door...and in the process SMACK MYSELF IN THE HEAD WITH THE CAR DOOR!!!! Nothing like hitting yourself with a big chunk of metal to shake the cobwebs off. What in the hell was I thinking? Now, I'm doubled over in my front yard, cursing very enthusiastically, 'cause now I feel like I was just blasted in the head with a steel chair by Stone Cold Steve Austin! After I get my bearings, I stand upright and pull my hands from my face, now there's blood in the palm of my hands! Now in the course of a few seconds as I walk to the bathroom I start thinking..."God, I hope I don't lose my eyesight", "Man, my wife is gonna love this", and "I really need to evaluate the stregnth I use to get into my truck!" I stand in the bathroom mirror , and see blood pouring down the right side of my head, so I wash my face to reveal a 1/4 inch gash inside my right eye brow. So I call my wife and tell her the story, she was really concerned that I was o.k. and not severely hurt.

Now it's 24 hours later and my head still hurts like a big bitch! I really gotta pay attention to what I'm doing!

Shoot First, feign ignorance later...

...so I'm surfin' the 'net as I usually do, and I run across someting quite disturbing. A law was passed in Florida that made it possible to use lethal force on another person for the act of "self-defense" In short here's what the law states...

The new Florida Shoot First law eliminates the duty to retreat and allows a person not engaged in unlawful activity who is attacked in a public place to "stand his or her ground" and use deadly force if "he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or to another person or to prevent the commission of a forcible felony." Thus, even if the shooter could have safely avoided the threat by walking away or seeking refuge elsewhere, the Shoot First law permits him to shoot the assailant and gives him immunity from criminal prosecution and civil suit if he does so.

I am a native Floridian...this law to me in short is BULLSHIT! Go to www.shootfirstlaw.org and take a stand on this. This angers me beyond belief...that such laws can be passed in a society such as ours.

Are you f#@%*#g kidding...

...so as I'm stumbling around the house this morning, getting ready for my day, I turn on the Today show to kinda see what's goin' on in the world today. This is what I find...There was a woman who, through dna testing found the dog that killed her cat. At first I thought this was pretty interesting, there are people who love their pets unconditionally, so maybe for her it was closure...here's where the f#@%*#g kidding moment comes in. This woman wants to dog to STAND TRIAL for the MURDER of her cat! ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!! At this point part of me wants to continue watching this farce, the other wants to take my television and toss it over a cliff! Sometimes I think we as people have too much time on our hands, now just so you think I'm being not being completely and utterly insane! I am a cat owner, matter of fact I own 2 American Longhair pure white cats, affectionately named Gizmo and Spot! My family has had these cats since they were 4 weeks old, that was five or six years ago! I love my cats dearly, however they do go out at night and roam the neighborhood, then they come back in the morning and sleep all day. Now I do understand the relationship between dogs and cats, if one of my cats gets it's ass kicked due to a neighborhood dog, what can I do. They have a better understanding of the issue than I do!...Before I start ranting...this lady needs to bury her fallen pet and move on.

Brig. General Vince Lombardi

So, i'm watching Fox Sports before I go to work...(Sunday ritual the wife and I do every week) and they're showing the massive amount of preparation the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers are going through before the game on Sunday. After the segment, Terry Bradshaw states that the segment showed only the tip of the iceberg. He states it's way more aggressive and intense than it seems. Then it hit me...let's get rid of all these military strategists and troop commanders, and use NFL coaches! These cat's seem to have their shit together (if the team is winning). Let's get some head coaches, and offensive coordinators to get the troops hyped to find this guy, 'cause obviously whatever we're doing now isn't working.
