We've been doing pretty well, the music is a huge departure from my punk roots, but this is my chance to expand and grow as a musician! Ignorance!
OK, happy 2010! Hope everyone is well and ready to kick this year in the ass! April Fools and all that!
I am constantly amazed over how much ignorance there is in the world! Example: I had someone question my ethnicity based on my musical preferences and the fact I took my son to WrestleMania 26 this past weekend.
Please do not live your life based on the boxes of an application: African american, hispanic, white or other! I can't stand that! I don't have time in my life to defend my choices based on bullshit stereotypes! I'm as black as the next brotha, believe that shit! I deal with the same issues and situations as every other African american man...however at a young age I decided to break the mold and march to my own drummer. When that drummer fucked up, I beat his ass and played the drums myself!
It's amazing that my manner of speech and musical preferences allow you to judge ther person that I am! I'm really sorry that I have amazing tastes in music, culture etc., plus the fact that in spoken conversation I probably have an eloquence you can't even begin to fathom! Yet I can hold a stimulating conversation and still swear like a sailor when the need arises!
Please...walk out of your cave and live a little! Stop letting MTV and slanted media outlets mold and shape your consciousness and perception of what's real when it comes to religion, social status and especially race!
