Well another year has passedd through our hands...have we learned anything, done any better? Only you can answer those questions...as for me, I'm moving my family into our first house! Im beyond excited as it's a new chapter in my life, and my awesome daughter Kelsey turns 18! She's excited and a chapter is about to begin in her life!

Gone 'til November

I hope everyone was blessed and had a wonderful thanksgiving! I'm still working on my spoken word/rant book and trying to find my inner peace, I'll do more later!

My clumsy ass!

Ok, so this will prove that I'm the clumsiest ass on the planet! So, when I leave from work at night, I leave from the Event Center at Mandalay Bay, and walk past a really swanky and expensive restaruant called Strip Steak! Now, on the outside of this fine establishment there's a sign with an interactive menu and the name of the restaurant that goes from floor to ceiling! A couple of days ago, I'm walking after work with my friend and co-worker, Jarrett. We're "shootin' the shit" just talking about everything on our walk out of Mandalay Bay. Now, right past Strip Steak tucked in a corner are exit doors that lead out to the parking garage, and that's the shortcut we're gunning for. While briskly walking I mention that my daughter should be calling me about a ride home, about 5 seconds after that my phone is abuzz with the text message my daughter has sent me. Now completely interested in my cell phone and paying no attention to where I'm going, fishing for my phone in my suit jacket...I slam head first in the huge sign at Strip Steak! I mean walking at full stride like I was on a mission and completely mash myself into this sign!! Now that I'm stunned...I take a step back, the hostess at Strip Steak is doubled over laughing...past her, folks at the bar are laughing...past them, everyone in the restaurant (the front is all glass) is laughing at me! I turn around to survey the damage around me, everyone within earshot is pointing and laughing. Embarassed as all hell I limp past the sign and scramble out of the exit doors! I make it to my car....aww fuck it, now I'm laughing.

So now a few days have passed and I have a slight limp, my knee really hurts...but on a positive note...I didn't drop my cell phone!

Awakening

I was driving to work this morning @ 6am. Coming over the overpass, I catch a good look at Sunrise Mountain...and for that brief moment, all was right in my world!

...if i could take a look at my mind a of late, you would see two very different sides. One side I imagine my soul sitting on a grassy plateau, pondering the questions of life in flowing robes, living in peace and harmony with all around me....then there's the other side. Smoke and fire everywhere as I stand in battle armor ready to confront and defeat anyone and anything that gets in my way! As much as I lean to the ghandi like side, the warmonger in me comes out every now and again. I don't like it, but it keeps me safe, letting people know when you have reached the point of no return!

The zen-like me will stare you down and politely tell you..."abandon all hope, ye who enter here." You get one warning, keep pushing and the warmonger will put you in your place! It's difficult to have these 2 sides coexist, but I do it daily. Guess I finally understand the old Suicidal Tendencies song "War Inside My Head"

June 3rd

...so my birthday was on May 31st, I turned 34. I don't feel different ust one year older, and on my birthday, I decided to have a friggin root canal done! What a way to celebrate.

Whadda ya do!

So, I'm sitting at home playing World Of Warcraft and all is right with the world...my wife was taking a nap, the kids were playing, pets sleeping....all was good! then I stare off into my kitchen with my notebook in my lap and watch the shelf that we store all of our glasses and coffee cups come crashing down! I'm just kinda sitting there, what in the hell could I do?!? I then proceded to get up and rummage through all the broken glass searching for survivors...It's 2 coffee cups and 2 glasses...and what's loaded in the dishwasher...the rest of it, DESTROYED! An entire shelf of stuff, gone! Well, at least I can go and update my coffee mugs and get a new service of glasses.

...am I my brother's keeper?

Insomnia friggin' sucks! It's 4 in the morning and I'm sitting in bed, talking to you and watching New Jack City! We were talking about this movie at work, and I said what the hell...dusted off the old VHS copy and plunked it in the ol' VCR! Maybe after it's over I can get some sleep!

Books and radio

I now have my new notebook, since some fucker decided he needed my other one more than I did. So I'd like to thank HP for keeping me connected again! Now onto my rant...Don Imus, I still don't believe he should have been fired! that's all I'm gonna say about that!

Days Off!

I'm off today, I'm sitting here watching The Departed...and to be honest, it's good, but you really gotta pay attention or you will be lost!

So now I work at Mandalay Bay, and to be honest, I am very happy, I really enjoy what I do! I'm happy now in the employment department!
